Sources we use
We base our guides on government health agencies (such as the US National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health), food-safety regulators (such as Germany’s BfR and the European Food Safety Authority), systematic reviews and meta-analyses, and the South African regulator, SAHPRA. Every guide lists its sources.
How we rate evidence
- Strong — consistent results from several good-quality trials.
- Moderate — several trials point the same way, but they are small or short.
- Mixed — some positive results, but quality is low or results disagree.
- Limited — too little research to say, or research shows no clear effect.
None of the spices we sell currently rates as strong for any use.
Separation of guides and products
Our guides describe research; our product pages describe our products. We do not claim that our products treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Advertising
Our guides carry advertising from Google AdSense, which helps pay for them. Advertisers have no say over what we write.
Updates and corrections
